The leaves and branches of a bonsai tree are trimmed to create a desired shape. Bonsai trees can be shaped into many styles, such as formal upright, informal upright, slanting, cascade, twisted, and broom style.

One purpose for a Bonchi is to winterize your favourite chilli plant that you can enjoy year after year.

Another purpose of a Bonchi is to beautify your home. They can also be used as a centrepiece for your dining table and/or general home decor.

A third purpose of a Bonchi is for seed preservation of your favourite and/or rare chilli plant. This helps ensure a steady supply of chilli peppers for your pepper sauce, especially if the chilli peppers are exotic peppers.
